Sewing, sewing, sewing, and a playdate!

I am (mostly) really enjoying all the sewing I have been doing lately to get ready for the Photo shoot I am planning for thursday. It has been a lot of work, and finding the time is not always easy with 3 kids to care for. The hubby has been a great help when he gets home though, so I have had some time in the evenings to get some more done. I am very excited for the actual shoot so I can see how all my hard work has come together.

I took a much needed break today for a playdate with some friends. I had such a wonderful time connecting with other mom's and having some mama to mama talks. I had Boogs pretty young, and for a while I didn't have any friends with children, which led me to feel very alone. Now that I have friends who are also becoming parents, I have really been enjoying making new mom friends. I love the stage of life I am in. I often wish I could freeze time where I am now. Each one of my boys is at such a fun age. Boogs is so inquisitive, and I love listening to the questions he comes up with and seeing how incredible his little mind is. Nugget is holding conversations with me and turning more from toddler to preschooler and he just seems to be growing a mile a minute. K-man is in his sweet baby stage (although REALLY struggling with reflux) and I adore his little smiles and coos. I know God has so much more in store for my life though so I look forward to each new day.

I better get to bed so I can see what's in store for tomorrow ;).

Internet free weekend!

Our internet is back up and running! A weekend without internet sure makes your appreciate it a lot more.

We had a good weekend. I got a surprise visit from my grandpa which really brightened my spirits. I love that man so much. He brought some donuts for the boys and I, and it brought back so many memories of him coming over when I was little and bringing me little treats. I always looked so forward to him coming over and remember running barefoot out to his van to greet him when he would come (and not just for the candy). I am such great memories of him and I cherish each and every one of them. I am so thrilled that K-man was born on my grandpa's birthday. I think it was a special gift from God to have him be born several weeks early on my grandpa's birthday. I could not have picked a better day for him to be born.

My weekend also included some sewing, a birthday party for my adorable niece and nephew, and some fellowship at church.

I have been getting some very severe migraines recently and the pain is just horrible. Yesterday, it got so intense I was vomiting and even laying in a dark and quiet room offered little relief. I think it's time to contact my neurologist and ask about a medication that is safe while nursing. Enough whining.

Today I have some more sewing to accomplish and I have some phone calls to make. Time to get on the ball!

Where to begin?

I really want to get back into blogging. It was a huge part of my life during my pregnancy with Boogs and the first 2 years of his life. I love being able to go back and read through little memories. It's almost like an online scrapbook of our lives. I miss it, so I am giving it another go around. Life with 3 little boys can be challenging, but it is beyond fun, and I want to document it all. The good, the bad, the fun, the crazy ness, the joy, the sorrow, and the excitement.

So here I am, (debating whether here is spelled "hear" or "here"). Just one of the many signs of my recent sleep deprivation. I can't blame it on the baby. He is actually sleeping pretty well for the most part. Me, on the other hand, well I am a different story.

I am currently enjoying a little downtime between breakfast and lunch, snuggling K-man while his big brothers color. Today I have doctor appointments for K and Boogs. K has his 2 month well baby visit and I am excited to see how much he has grown since his arrival just a little over 2 months ago. Boogs is having a follow up to see how his new asthma medicine is working for him. Hopefully his lungs are improving and he is having an easier time breathing. The past week and a half or so, Boogs has been complaining of tummy aches and feeling sick quite often. He has not been eating near as much and has randomly thrown up a few different times. I have no idea what is going on, but I plan to bring it up to the doctor today and see what she thinks could be the problem. I am thinking keeping a food diary would be a good idea to see if I can narrow it down to something he is eating. Hopefully it ends soon.

My mind is running with things I need to accomplish this next week. Between birthday parties, playdates, doctors, sewing, photo shoots, cleaning and church, I don't foresee much free time. I am trying to find time to squeeze in workouts, but that can be difficult when cuddling a baby just is so much more appealing.

Well it's time to wrap it up. K is done nursing and it's time for showers and to get us all ready for the doctors. Have a wonderful weekend!

Welcome! My name is Beckah...

Me in a nutshell:

-Faith-

I am a child of God's. A sinner saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. I have not always made the best decisions, I have stumbled, and I have fallen flat on my face. Despite my many slips and falls, my failures and my insecurities, I am loved. God sees past my imperfections and flaws and continues to love me, forgive me, and accept me for who I am. He has carried me through my trials and has stood by my side through my darkest moments. I am trying my best to live for Him and to be the woman He has created me to be.

-Family-

I am a wife to my handsome hubby. Together we have 3 gorgeous little boys; Boogs, Nugget, and K-man (or Slim Jim, Beefcake, and Meatball, take your pick). Hubby and I met at age 14 and have been best friends ever since. I am a mom trying my hardest to raise my boys to be Godly men that love Jesus with all their hearts. I take my responsibility as a mom very seriously. I was blessed with 3 beautiful gifts from God, and I know that one day I must hand them back over to God. I am beyond grateful for the chance I have been given to be their mommy. I have always adored children and would love to one day adopt or work with children in need.

-Parenting-

My parenting style tends to be on the "attached" side. It feels so natural to me, and I have only in the past 2 years learned that what I was doing as a mom, had a style name. I have an extreme passion for natural child birth as well. There is nothing more incredible then the moment a child enters the world and the feeling you get when they first place your baby in your arms. I have been blessed enough to have 3 amazing birth experiences and I love to share those stories with others, and encourage them that they can have just as awesome of an experience.Despite how I parent, I won't throw my own opinions or beliefs on other people. I may parent one way, but I have many friends who parent differently and I respect them all the same.

-Photography-

Ever since I can remember I have loved taking pictures. Growing up I invested way too much money in disposable cameras. I just love capturing memories and being able to hold on to them. After having Boogs I realized just how quickly time passes, and how fleeting those precious moments are and I could not take enough pictures. To say I have love photography is an understatement for sure. I have so much to learn and I love soaking up anything I can about the art.

-Crafting-

I also love crafting. I love creating things and being able to watch a vision come to life. The past few years I have taken up sewing and I love it. I am still starting out and learning, but I love it and enjoy relaxing and sewing up things for the boys or friends.

K-man

K-man is our newest little blessing from God. He is such a sweet little baby and has had me wrapped about his tiny little fingers since the day he was born. He was born 3 1/2 wks early weighing 6lbs 14oz and 19.5in long. He was worth every minute of my 23 hour labor and every second of my very difficult pregnancy. He loves snuggling up to his mommy and has grown very attached to my robe in his short few months here with us. He loves being close to mommy and daddy in the carrier, and listening to Boogs and Nugget sing to read, read to him, and he even tolerates their goofy jokes .He has something so precious and angelic about him, and I am so excited to watch him grow and see his personality develop. I love you Baby K, you are such a perfect gift from above.

Nugget

Our little Nugget burst into our lives on July 28'th, 2008. Born weighing 6lbs 14oz and 18.5in., he shocked us all by being born at home less then an hour after the hospital sent me home. He has been full of surprises ever since. He is such a ham and isable to put a smile on your face quicker then anyone I know. He is always laughing, being goofy and telling us just how funny he is. No one can cheer me up when I am feeling down, better then this little guy. He is such a cheerful and fun loving child. He is extremely determined and has a stubborn streak just like his daddy (let's just pretend that's where he gets it). It's pretty hard not to fall in love with Nuggey. He has a magnetic personality and is so fun to be around. He loves princesses, pink, and playing with his brothers. He is amazing with babies. He just loves holding them and talking to them, and is incredibly sweet with them. He is my little charmer and it's impossible to stay mad at him for long. He is my little ray of sunshine, straight from heaven and I am so proud to call him my son. I love you Nugget.

Boogs

November 16'th 2005, I was blessed with the most beautiful baby boy I had ever laid eyes on. He was 7lbs 8oz and 20.5 inches of pure bliss. That day my world was forever changed. I became a mom. Boogs has always been an incredible child, A kind and gentle spirit. He is incredibly observant and a very serious thinker. He is extremely intuitive and his little mind is always in overdrive. He is very nurturing and I could not have chosen a more perfect big brother for Nugget and K-man. He will cuddle K-man for hours and loves to sing and read to him. He also adores playing with Nugget. They are the absolute best of friends and Boogs is very protective of both his little brothers. He always seems to know when I am feeling down and is quick to offer a kind word along with hugs and kisses to make me feel better. I thank god every day for blessing me so greatly with this precious child. He touches everyone he meets and I know he will do great things in his life. I love you Boogs.
